Soy & Sass is a small (team of 3–6), but growing candle and home fragrance brand based in Downtown St Petersburg, FL. We focus on online retail sales and are actively growing our wholesale presence. What is this role?

We’re looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accountant to support our growing online business. This role is responsible for keeping our books clean, accurate, and up to date in QuickBooks Online, and supporting month-end reporting.

This is a remote role (Philippines-based) working approximately 10 hours per week, with some overlap required with Eastern Standard Time (EST) for communication.

What does an average week look like?

  • Maintaining accurate records in QuickBooks Online
  • Reconciling bank and credit card accounts
  • Reviewing and preparing monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
  • Recording revenue, expenses, and adjustments correctly
  • Supporting month-end close and flagging discrepancies
  • Communicating clearly around questions, missing data, or issues
What type of person we’re looking for:
  • Holds a formal accounting qualification (degree, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • 3–5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Strong, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles (not just data entry)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growing business
Bonus (nice to have):
  • Experience with e-commerce or online businesses
  • Familiarity with payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify Payments)
Working hours
  • Approximately 10 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule, but must overlap partially with EST
