The role

London South Bank University is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to join the Finance, Management and Information (FMI) team, providing high quality financial accounting and reporting support across the LSBU Group.

This is a part time (21-28 hours per week) varied and detail-focused role, responsible for supporting the effective delivery of month-end and year-end accounting processes, statutory reporting, audit activity, VAT reporting, and financial control across the organisation. You will work closely with colleagues across Finance and wider Professional Service teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with financial regulations, and the continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures.

About You

You will have substantial experience working within a financial accounting environment, with strong technical accounting knowledge and a sound understanding of financial controls, reporting requirements, and audit processes. Experience of supporting month-end and year-end accounting activities, VAT reporting, and statutory returns is essential.

You will be highly organised, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines. You will also be an excellent communicator, capable of building effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.

As a key member of the FMI team, you will support the delivery of accurate and timely financial information, contribute to maintaining strong financial governance and compliance, assist with continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes, and help deliver a professional, customer-focused finance service that supports the strategic aims of the LSBU Group.
