We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a growing Australian law firm specializing primarily in Personal Injury and Compensation matters, with some exposure to Family Law matters. This role is ideal for a legal professional who is highly organized, proactive, and capable of providing reliable support in a remote working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with drafting, editing, and formatting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research related to personal injury, compensation, and family law matters.
  • Provide administrative and file management support across active legal matters.
  • Organize and maintain accurate digital files and documentation.
  • Assist with preparation of court documents, briefs, and supporting materials.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and third parties where required.
  • Support diary management, scheduling, and general legal administration tasks.
  • Ensure attention to detail across all written work and legal documentation.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the principal lawyer as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working within an Australian legal practice is essential.
  • Experience supporting Personal Injury, Compensation, or Family Law matters is preferred.
  • Junior to mid-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong written communication and editing skills.
  • Excellent research and organizational abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and flexible environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general legal technology platforms.
