The Communities team builds the engagement engine that connects with more than 20k customers each year to Microsoft Security Engineering teams. We gather product feedback and insight and help customers deploy and use our security products successfully, becoming raving fans.

The focus of the Scale and Operations team within the CXE Communities team is to both run and make our community engine increasingly efficient. This team accelerates customer feedback with more than webinars, focus groups, research surveys, and other types of engagement. The team delivers across the entire Microsoft Security product portfolio, interacting with product-focused PMs aligned to every product. While we deliver the operations that run this world-class community we also build and refine the operations engine constantly.

We're on the lookout for an adept people manager with experience managing early in profession team members, someone who has demonstrated excellence in growing careers and has a keen eye for manufacturing success. Responsibilities

  • Lead and nurture a team of motivated, early in profession. PMs driving increased business impact for Communities.


  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges for Microsoft Security products, competitive pressures, and business opportunity. Be the voice of the customer.


  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges for Microsoft Security Community as a product. Be the voice of the customer.


  • Partner across Microsoft and with other Security CXE teams to ensure strategic and execution alignment.


  • Communicate clearly about projects, risks, and accomplishments on behalf of the team.


  • Hold a high bar for customer experience, quality, and thinking end-to-end about what our customers need.


  • Drive continuous improvement of our Community operations.
  • Demonstrate drive for results with a sense of urgency.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) people management experience.


Other Requirements:

The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience.
  • 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
  • 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • 3+ years leading high impact operations and PM teams with early in profession Individual Contributors
  • Demonstrated history of change management and rapid understanding of business processes to support operations.
  • Exceptional ability to negotiate and collaborate across teams and organizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Microsoft Security product portfolio.
  • Keen technical aptitude, data focus, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle significant ambiguity and rapid change.

Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
