Frontend Engineer, Platform

Other Jobs To Apply

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $328Mm in funding, including our Series D, at a $3B valuation from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, Menlo Ventures, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and others.

The Opportunity

We're building a dedicated Frontend Platform team, and we're looking for a Frontend Engineer who loves working on the systems that every product team builds on. You'll own the design system and the horizontal web foundation — the shared components, patterns, architecture, and tooling that let every team ship consistent, high-quality experiences without reinventing the basics.

This is the engineering layer underneath Grow's product surface. As we consolidate into a modern Next.js architecture and launch a major new consumer brand, the platform you build is what makes everyone else faster — and what keeps the experience cohesive as we scale.

It's a foundational role on a new team, with real room to shape how web engineering works at Grow.

What You'll Do
  • Own and evolve our design system — architecture, tokens, theming, governance, and the patterns product teams rely on, in close partnership with Design Engineering

  • Build the horizontal web foundation: shared components, frameworks, and the architecture that product teams build features on top of

  • Improve performance, accessibility, and consistency across all web surfaces — making quality the default rather than something each team re-solves

  • Develop the tooling and developer experience that help product teams move quickly and confidently, including an AI-forward approach to frontend development

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to bring platform capabilities into their workflows, and contribute improvements back from real product needs

  • Create the documentation and guidance that make all of the above easy to adopt

You'll Be a Good Fit If You:
  • Have 5+ years of frontend or full-stack engineering experience, with a track record of work that other engineering teams depended on

  • Have experience building or scaling design systems, component libraries, or shared frontend infrastructure — with an instinct for horizontal impact over one-team feature work

  • Bring enough product sensibility to build a platform people actually want to use — you understand the product surface your work powers

  • Are fluent in modern frontend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, CSS systems)

  • Think in systems — seeing patterns, simplifying complexity, and designing for reuse across teams

  • Have a strong understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and web performance as shared, systemic concerns

  • Are comfortable with AI-assisted development (AI tools are part of our daily workflow and our interview loop)

  • Communicate clearly and influence engineering and UI standards across teams

  • Bring a founder's mindset: ownership, speed, pragmatism, and bias toward action

Bonus Points:

  • You've worked with experimentation/feature-flagging, localization (i18n), or accessibility tooling at a systems level

  • You have monorepo or frontend build tooling experience (Turborepo, Nx, Vite)

  • You were a product engineer before moving toward platform — you understand both sides

Why This Role Matters

As Grow scales, every product team ends up re-solving the same horizontal problems — consistency, performance, accessibility, shared components. This team removes that friction so product teams can focus on the experience. The web is becoming the primary surface for millions of clients, and the platform you build is the foundation that lets us ship a consumer-grade experience, fast, without sacrificing quality.
