Purpose of the Role

SVP Marketing is accountable for Evotec’s global marketing strategy and execution across brand, demand generation, content, digital, and field enablement. The role drives measurable pipeline and revenue impact, elevates Evotec’s brand leadership in discovery and preclinical services, and ensures tight alignment with commercial priorities across segments and regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Strategy & Planning: Define the global marketing strategy aligned to corporate priorities and segment growth goals. Own annual/quarterly marketing plans, OKRs, and budgets.

  • Demand Generation & Growth: Build a performance marketing engine (digital, ABM, events) delivering qualified pipeline for standalone services and integrated discovery/development programs. Establish funnel KPIs (MQL/SQL conversion, CAC, ROI) and continuously optimize.

  • Brand & Thought Leadership: Position Evotec as a category leader in AI-enabled drug discovery, new modalities, and lab automation through signature campaigns, executive narratives, and PR/AR.

  • Content & Offer Marketing: Develop modular, offer-specific messaging and packages for CRO services, integrated E2E solutions, and strategic partnerships. Ensure pricing/value communication and proof points.

  • Digital & Web Experience: Own evotec.com and digital channels. Drive SEO/SEM, marketing automation, and data-driven personalization to increase engagement and conversion.

  • Sales Enablement: Partner with BD and Operations to equip field teams with playbooks, case studies, calculators, and proposal assets. Improve win rates and cycle times through standardized toolkits.

  • Insights & Performance Management: Establish marketing analytics, dashboards, and modeling for attribution, pipeline impact, and ROI. Lead quarterly performance reviews and course-correct plans.

  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Translate market trends and competitor moves into differentiated positioning and campaigns; inform portfolio and pricing decisions.

  • Organization & Operating Model: Build and lead a high-performing global marketing organization with clear roles (brand, demand, content, digital, enablement). Implement agile ways of working and shared services.

  • Governance & Stakeholder Alignment: Run cross-functional marketing councils with Commercial Strategy, BD, Finance, and Operations to align priorities, budgets, and measures of success.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences and extensive marketing leadership experience, driving revenue growth through data-driven demand generation, strategic positioning, and high-impact go-to-market execution

  • MBA is a plus

  • Extensive senior experience leading B2B marketing functions within CRO/CDMO, biotech, or pharma, with a demonstrated track record of driving measurable pipeline and revenue impact.

  • Demonstrated success in demand generation, ABM, digital marketing, and sales enablement for complex scientific offerings.

  • Strong understanding of drug discovery & development services and partnership models (standalone, integrated, alliances).

  • Experience building global marketing teams, operating models, and data-driven performance frameworks.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder influence, and executive presence; board-ready storytelling.
