Job Description As a Project Engineer, System Test, you will lead test development and test execution activities, using both manual test methods and automated test tools for Rockwell's software and hardware offerings. You will perform software, firmware, and hardware testing tasks including test development, planning, scheduling, and execution. We generally focus the scope of work on complex test engineering tasks to ensure that we develop quality software and hardware products. You will report to Senior Manager, Test and will work onsite in Mequon, WI. Primary Responsibilities: Contribute to a team of engineers in a positive, work environment, as an active implementer of test cases, automation tests, and automated test infrastructure/frameworks. Estimate, plan, develop different types of tests: system, integration, performance, and functional. Lead, develop, and communicate progress of high-level test plans that incorporate all phases of testing required for product releases. Create test strategies, test specifications, and test cases to support these high-level test plans. Collaborate across test teams to ensure test activities are prioritized to meet project release milestones. Communicate test strategies, plans, and status to team members and stakeholders. Design, build, and procure test tools, equipment, platforms, and/or environments needed to support validation and verification tests. Use automated test tools and methods to ensure adequate functional coverage is attained. Document and report product defects using analytical domain skills and knowledge. Debug complex issues and perform ad-hoc testing to determine the root cause of issues. Research and explore new possibilities utilizing the latest technologies and standards. The Essential qualifications: You will have Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience Legal authorization to work in the US is required. The Preferred - You Might Also Have: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience Field / technical customer support experience in Software, Firmware, and Hardware support or troubleshooting specific to PLC, Network, VFD configurations or other Testing/Quality Assurance roles. Two years of technical project leadership or engineering management experience. Experienced at estimate of test efforts and lead those efforts across a group of engineers: test development and test execution. Proficiency in the identification, development, and execution of risk-based testing. Experience working in Agile and SAFe. Mentor and support team members on industry best practices, including anomaly entry and the test process. Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products (including Low Voltage Drives products and Logix controllers and software tools) and other industrial control equipment. Requirement, test, and anomaly management tools such as Jira, Jama, and qTest. Excellent knowledge of software test engineering methods and tools. Experience with test automation frameworks like TAFT. Programming languages for automated tests like Python or JavaScript.
