About the position

The Detention Deputy TEA (Temporarily Employed or Appointed) Trainee position at the Seminole County Sheriff's Office offers qualified candidates the opportunity to begin their training in corrections. This role involves working at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, where trainees will learn to manage the care, custody, control, and re-entry of inmates. Successful candidates will undergo basic recruit training at an approved Corrections Training Academy to become Certified Detention Deputies. The position emphasizes maintaining a safe environment for both inmates and staff while providing support for inmates' rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise inmates to prevent altercations.
