Program Overview:

Join MITRE's Cyber New Professionals (CNP) Program, designed to help you solve complex cybersecurity challenges. You'll gain extensive experience, diverse skills, and build your professional network alongside top cyber experts. Our program has successfully launched many cybersecurity professionals and leaders who have significantly impacted our nation's cybersecurity landscape.

CNP Onboarding:

Our onboarding program guides new members through their transition into MITRE, ensuring they understand our culture and organizational structure. We equip you with valuable resources and best practices for your career at MITRE.

CNP Project Rotations:

CNP participants have the chance to work on diverse projects, gaining hands-on experience and deepening their expertise in targeted areas. Projects allow you to:

Integrate practical operations with established cybersecurity practices to devise intelligence-driven solutions.

Enhance the security and resilience of critical cyber systems using threat-informed principles.

Safeguard vital infrastructure against cyber and non-kinetic threats.

Engage in practical work within the Critical Infrastructure Development, Engineering, and Research (CIDER) Lab using real-world Operational Technology.

Training Opportunities:

You will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and training sessions to develop new skills and hone existing ones while working on your projects.

Responsibilities:

As a CNP member, you will apply your cybersecurity skills to various areas, including:

Cross Domain Solutions.

Critical Infrastructure Resiliency and Safety.

Industrial Control Systems and SCADA.

Operational Technology and IoT Device Security.

Operational Technology Engineering and Response.

Modeling and Simulation of Critical Infrastructure.

Adversary Emulation for Operational Technologies.

Your work will involve:

Innovating and advancing technical ideas.

Conducting thorough analyses that inform our sponsors’ decision-making.

Developing proof-of-concept systems leveraging new technologies.

Collaborating with industry stakeholders to elevate cybersecurity standards.

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's or graduate degree in a relevant field.

0-2 years of related experience.

Experience through internships or research.

Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and tools.

Eligibility to obtain a US government Top Secret security clearance.

Familiarity with Industrial Control Systems and their physical interactions.

Understanding of network protocols and devices.

This position requires a minimum of 50% presence on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

Programming experience in languages like Python, Java, C/C++, or JavaScript.

Understanding of cybersecurity across multiple platforms.

Experience with tools such as Nmap, Metasploit, and MITRE frameworks.

Knowledge of Critical Infrastructure control systems and adversarial methods.

Familiarity with Operational Technology protocols and relevant security considerations.

Experience with adversary emulation operations.

Demonstrated teamwork and independent problem-solving aptitude.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail.

Preference for candidates with active Security Clearances.

Salary Range: $85,200 - $106,500 - $127,800 annually.

Work Location: Hybrid.
